Carry Notes privacy policy

Carry Notes collects nothing. Your notes never leave your device. We can't see them, and no one else can through the app.
What the app reads and writes
- It reads only the folders you choose. Your export, such as an Obsidian vault, is only ever read, never changed.
- It writes only to the destination folder you choose, and to an outside folder if you use the Send to folder step.
- It keeps its own records, your actions, your runs and the copies Undo needs, in a hidden
.carrynotesfolder inside the destination. Delete that folder, or the destination, and they are gone. - It remembers your recent workspaces, and the folders you gave it access to, in the app's own storage on your device. Remove from List forgets one workspace. Deleting the app removes them all.
What the app doesn't do
- It never goes online. The app has no network access at all.
- It has no accounts and no sign-in.
- It has no analytics, no ads, no tracking, and no third-party code.
- It never reads another app's private data. It only works on exports and folders you pick.
What Apple shares with us
Apple handles how you get Carry Notes, and some information can reach us through Apple:
- If you test the beta in TestFlight, Apple shares the name and email address you were invited with, the feedback and screenshots you choose to send, and crash reports from the beta.
- If you download Carry Notes from the App Store and turn on Share with App Developers in your device's settings, Apple shares crash reports and usage statistics with us, without your identity.
- If you buy Carry Notes, Apple handles the payment. We never see your payment details.
We use what Apple shares only to fix problems and make Carry Notes better. We never sell it or share it with anyone. What Apple itself collects is covered by Apple's privacy policy.
Children
Carry Notes collects no information from anyone, children included.
Your rights
The app holds no personal information about you, so there is nothing in it for us to show you or delete. If you sent us feedback through TestFlight or by email and want it deleted, write to us and we will delete it. This applies wherever you live.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, this page shows the new version and its date. If Carry Notes ever starts collecting anything, the policy changes before that version is released, and the app tells you.
